Electrolysis – Diathermy

Electrolysis - Permanent Hair Removal

Electrolysis

Electrolysis hair removal is the only method approved as offering Permanent Hair Removal .It does require multiple sessions to achieve best possible results.

Electrolysis is a traditional method for permanent hair removal. It is great for smaller areas such as single, stubborn-to-remove hair on the chin, eyebrows and generally around the nipple. It can treat all hair colours, including blonde and white. Only sterile disposable probes are used.

Because it doesn't target hair pigment (colour) like laser, but attacks the follicle itself. People that aren't good candidates for laser can still get electrolysis.

Improperly performed treatments will not provide results and hurt more so only use trained clinicians in electrolysis and why you should be contacting Facial Attraction.

How does Electrolysis work?

Hair grows in different stages: growing, resting and shedding. We need to get the hair in the growth phase for electrolysis hair removal to be most effective- just like laser hair removal.

Electrolysis works by delivering an electric current via a fine sterile needle into each hair follicle. This electric current destroys the cells responsible for hair growth.

At Facial Attraction we use “The Blend” Method. This method, sometimes called the Dual Action Method, alleviates the shortcomings of using individual techniques such as the galvanic or thermolysis method, whilst bolstering their advantages. This method means we can achieve a high clearance rate of typically over 85%.

Diathermy

Diathermy is an advanced technique used by our Clinicians and Electrologist to reduce and eliminate, individual, visible surface capillaries (thread Veins) and spider veins, on the face. We would normally recommend our laser treatments for larger areas. Diathermy is the cauterisation by heat current, of the visible capillaries, which are in the epidermal layers.

There can be many causes of these damaged capillaries...sun exposure, harsh treatment of the skin and injury such as squeezing. In some cases, fine skin texture and Rosacea may be an inherited factor.

Pre-Treatment Care

Unprotected sun exposure and solarium must be avoided. Skin is to be protected with Mediiskin SunSkin at least 2 weeks prior to treatment.

You should not tweeze prior to or between treatments, as this will hampers your results.

Post-Treatment Care

A good program of hygienic homecare will avoid any spots or minor infections occurring. It is important for clients to remember to take extra care of the treated areas within the first 48hours, giving the skin a chance to settle and allow it to return to normal.

Clients must apply STEREX antiseptic & healing cream to the treated area 2 hours after your treatment, making sure they have clean hands & then reapply 2-3 times per day until the skin has completely healed (usually 3-4 days).
